Growing up in a group home with my two brothers taught me one lesson early: if you want someone safe, you protect them yourself. Back then, it was the three of us against the world. These days, we run one of the most successful security companies in the world together.

My brothers are the only family I've ever needed. As CEO, I like structure, control, and knowing exactly what's going to happen next. So when my best friend asks me to provide security for his engagement party, I expect an easy job.

Instead, I meet Ruby Ward. She's beautiful, impossible to predict, and completely disregards my rules. While everyone else sees the polished, successful businessman, Ruby challenges me at every turn, and somehow makes me enjoy it.

Before long, I'm looking for her the moment I walk into a room. Saving her a seat beside me. Making sure she gets home safely.

Looking after her becomes as natural as breathing. Which is a problem. Because I've spent years convincing myself I don't need anything beyond my brothers, my company, and the life we've built together.
