Anke wants one thing more than anything, and will do whatever she has to do, to get it, even if it shatters the hearts of the people who love her the most. Anke Mast made a decision long ago to live her life as an Englisher, but after a dreadful betrayal she sets her mind to return to her community and reclaim what is rightfully hers. When her return is met with cold shoulders and harsh glares, Anke realizes that what she wants will require more fortitude than she imagined, and she must dig deep within herself, and turn a deaf ear to gossip.
