THE GREAT ROXHYTHE is a romance of Charles II’s court, with two unconventional love stories at its heart. The most noble Marquis of Roxhythe is the King’s favourite and the darling of the ladies. The whole court is jealous of his wealth, the beauty of his exquisitely clothed person, and above all of his friendship with the King. But beneath his airs and graces there is a hidden and keen intelligence, and a quick wit.
