But three weeks later, her car is crushed beneath a semi truck and the life the young newlyweds had planned is extinguished. Thirty-six years later, Holly's cold case lands on Detective Archer Malone's desk, and her remains, on my table inside Autopsy Room One. Together, we’re building a life around justice.

He hunts killers. I speak for the dead. But as family pulls us in one direction, and our careers in another, we’re forced to confront the cracks forming beneath our feet.

Danger is closing in. Bullet wounds leave scars deeper than flesh, and the ghosts of our pasts refuse to stay silent. Can two newlyweds survive the storm that’s coming?

Or will love be the next casualty in a city that never forgets?
