A small, segregated city is thrown into chaos when the town hero, Adele Johnson finds love and hangs up her boxing gloves for good. But the racists that run Suffolk refuse to let her retire undefeated. They not only plan to ruin her life but they also want to show the towns people who has the most power.

Relationship problems occur when manipulative people come between Adele and happiness. The stress causes her to lose the love of her life as the future of the entire Black community rests on her shoulders.
