I’m a veterinary assistant, it’s second nature to help animals. So that’s what I did. Then the fox changed into a man, right in front of my eyes.

Turns out, I didn’t save a fox, I saved a fox shifter. But he was still in rough shape, so I made sure he got home—higher up the mountain, to a town I didn’t know existed because no humans do. In Fate’s Falls, I was welcomed by his pack and everyone else.

“Everyone else” primarily being monsters. All shapes, sizes, and types, and all super nice. So I stayed.

Then I walked into the local bakery and fell instantly head over heels with a towering, dark-red hell demon who makes the best scones on earth. Possibly in any realm. Now, if only Amazra would see me as more than his number-one scone-addicted customer, my life would be fairy-tale perfect.
